Wave of Break-Ins Hits Norfolk Businesses Along Military Highway, Granby Street and Campostella Road

Norfolk police are asking for the public’s help as detectives investigate a string of commercial burglaries reported across the city over the past week.

According to police, the break-ins started March 6 and have mostly happened during the early morning hours, between midnight and 6 a.m. Two more businesses were hit around 9:30 p.m. on March 16, widening what detectives now say is a connected series of crimes.

Investigators say surveillance footage shows the same man may be tied to multiple burglaries. In each case, police say the suspect broke windows to get inside businesses and steal items.

The pattern has rattled business owners in several parts of Norfolk, from the Military Highway corridor to Granby Street and Campostella Road.

Businesses police say were affected include:

  • Little Caesars, 1126 N. Military Highway

  • 7-Eleven, 5827 E. Virginia Beach Boulevard

  • HQ Korean BBQ and Hot Pot, 1020 N. Military Highway

  • Applebee’s and Biryani Hub, in the 5700 block of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard

  • Happy Shopper and Hardee’s on Campostella Road

  • LowKey and Sacq Run X Bags to Riches, in the 700 block of Granby Street

Police have not released details about what was taken from each location, but they say the investigation remains active and the incidents appear to be related.

Anyone who recognizes the man seen in surveillance footage or has information about the burglaries is asked to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the P3Tips mobile app.
