A quiet Virginia Beach neighborhood turned into a crime scene midday Saturday after a woman was found shot to death outside a home on Oleander Circle.
The call came in just after noon on May 10. A resident reported finding bullet holes in their home in the 600 block of Oleander Circle. When police arrived, they discovered 54-year-old Christine Donahue, also of Virginia Beach, dead outside a nearby property.
While securing the area, officers identified and arrested 54-year-old Brian Burton, who also lives in Virginia Beach. He’s now facing charges of second-degree murder and using a firearm during a felony.
Police haven’t released details about what led up to the shooting, but say this appears to be an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing.
