A quiet Saturday night turned deadly in Norfolk’s Lindenwood neighborhood after a young woman was fatally stabbed just before midnight.
Norfolk Police say 42-year-old Crystal N. Wesby has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Taniya P. Scott. Officers were called to the 900 block of Tunstall Avenue around 11:55 p.m. on April 13, where they found Scott with critical stab wounds.
Scott was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries.
Wesby was arrested the next day on the 800 block of Bagnall Road. She’s currently being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Investigators haven’t said what led to the stabbing or if the two women knew each other. The case is still under investigation.
