Virginia Beach Police have arrested a suspect in connection with an early morning shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of South Lynnhaven Road.
On August 23 at approximately 3:57 a.m., Emergency Communications and Citizen Services received a call reporting a gunshot wound in the area. Officers responded to the scene, but no victim was located at the time.
A short while later, an adult male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Detectives from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were called to the hospital and, through investigative efforts, were able to link the man’s injuries to the earlier shooting on South Lynnhaven Road.
Further investigation led detectives to identify Jasmine Hockaday, a 32-year-old Virginia Beach resident, as the suspect. She was arrested on August 27, 2025, and charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm, and shooting in an occupied dwelling.
