A late afternoon crash on Ballentine Boulevard sent three people to the hospital Friday — one of them with life-threatening injuries.
Norfolk Police say the crash happened just before 5 p.m. on October 10 in the 700 block of Ballentine Boulevard. According to investigators, a box truck and a pickup collided, leaving three people injured. All three were passengers in the box truck. The driver of the truck was seriously hurt and was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were not injured, at least not enough to require treatment on the scene.
Police haven’t released details about what led up to the crash, but say alcohol and speed appear to be factors. The department’s Traffic Fatality Unit is handling the investigation.
More information is expected as the case develops.
