Late last night, Virginia Beach was rocked by a shooting incident at Lineberry Park on Kings Point Road. Around 6:15 PM, Virginia Beach authorities were alerted to gunfire in the area. Police officers arrived quickly, finding clear signs of a shooting but no one injured at the scene. However, a twist came when a local hospital reported treating a 41-year-old man for a gunshot wound, linking him to the Lineberry Park incident.
Investigative efforts by the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Robbery Detectives uncovered that the shooting occurred amid an illegal drug deal involving marijuana. Two suspects emerged in the case: 23-year-old Shyria Parham from Newport News and 26-year-old Shaquille Pugh from Virginia Beach.
The charges against Parham and Pugh are severe, including Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Attempted Robbery, among others. Notably, Parham also faces a charge for illegal firearm possession due to a prior conviction.
After a weeks-long manhunt, both suspects were finally captured on November 28, thanks to a coordinated effort by the Virginia Beach Police, their Warrant Fugitive Unit, SWAT Team, and the Norfolk Police Department. The community breathes a sigh of relief as these individuals face the consequences of their actions.
