NORFOLK, Va. – A tragic situation unfolded in Norfolk, where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the death of a nine-day-old infant to be a homicide. The incident occurred on May 4, 2024, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., police were summoned to the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters following a child protection alert. Upon arrival, they were confronted with a distressing scene: an unresponsive infant who exhibited signs of physical abuse. Despite the medical team’s efforts, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
In the immediate aftermath, Hilary D. Johnson, aged 23, and Zibreyea S. Parker, 21, were arrested and faced charges of child abuse.
