On June 10, 2025, at approximately 6:29 a.m., Hampton Public Safety Communications received a call reporting a shooting incident in the 1st block of Capps Quarters. Officers responded to the scene and located two victims, an adult male and an adult female both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the male subject contacted emergency communications stating he had shot his mother. Evidence suggests the male then took his own life prior to officers arriving on scene.
The Hampton Police Division’s Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating the incident. No threat to the community is believed to exist at this time.
