NORFOLK, Va. – Kevin Javon Taylor, a 51-year-old resident of Virginia Beach, has pled guilty to receiving images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children.
Court documents reveal that an FBI investigation began in March 2021 after hundreds of requests for suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) were traced to an IP address in Virginia Beach. The investigation, covering the period from October 2020 to May 2021, led authorities to Taylor’s residence.
On June 6, 2021, the FBI executed a search warrant at Taylor’s home. Preliminary reviews of his electronic devices indicated the presence of CSAM, with file names and paths that suggested explicit content. Additionally, agents discovered three physical binders containing printed CSAM.
A comprehensive review of the seized electronic devices revealed approximately 14,100 images and 642 videos of CSAM, along with over 90,000 images of child erotica. These materials were stored across thirty-three different devices and physical formats.
Taylor is scheduled for sentencing on December 5. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison. The final sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge, who will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other relevant factors.
