In a disturbing case, a Chesapeake man, Christopher Digges, 41, was sentenced to 29 years in prison today for coercion and enticement of a minor. Court documents reveal that Digges exploited an economically vulnerable mother and her child, moving in with them in 2021 under the guise of providing financial help by paying rent.
Once living with the family, Digges engaged in repeated sexual abuse of the child, coercing her into producing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). He manipulated the child emotionally, even purchasing a house in Chesapeake in October 2021, claiming it was for her. He used the home and gifts to further control and threaten the child, physically abusing her when she didn’t comply.
This abuse continued for two years, until the mother alerted authorities in July 2023. Digges had been coercing the child from age 12 until she turned 14. Following the investigation, law enforcement recovered $169,462.62 from the sale of the residence Digges had bought.
