A 46-year-old Norfolk man is heading to federal prison for six years after investigators caught him picking up a parcel containing five kilos of cocaine. The arrest also turned up illegal firearms at his home.
Stanley Desmarat—who also went by aliases including Whisper, Tony Sulza, Tony Demarcy, and Stanly Desmaratti—was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and for being a felon in possession of firearms.
According to court documents, law enforcement made a controlled cocaine purchase from Desmarat back in February 2024. On May 13, investigators tracked a package with five kilograms of cocaine and carried out a controlled delivery. Soon after the parcel arrived, Desmarat showed up in a rental car to pick it up. Officers arrested him at the scene.
A search of his home uncovered three handguns—including one that had been reported stolen—along with ammunition and several magazines. As a convicted felon, Desmarat isn’t allowed to have guns or ammo under federal law.
His past convictions include a 2003 charge for manufacturing or distributing drugs and a 2007 conviction for illegally possessing a firearm.
